Kerri Eaker is the Family Support Outreach Coordinator for the Family Support Network™ of WNC, a program of Mission Children’s Hospital in Asheville, NC. She has served in a coordinator capacity with the program since 2010 where she has helped to develop a strong Family Support Group and community outreach program. Kerri was appointed the Chair of North Carolina Council on Developmental Disabilities in 2019 and has served on the council since 2013. She is a certificated Stepping Stones Triple P (Positive Parenting) provider and is a well know speaker and trainer on topics related to navigating North Carolina’s I/DD systems of care.
Kerri has been active in advocacy for children with special health care needs and their families for over 25 years in NC. She is the mother of an adult son with an intellectual disability, psychiatric disability, and chronic health conditions. Kerri has first-hand experience learning to navigate the complexities of the health care, disability, education, and employment systems. She works every day to share her knowledge and compassion with other families. Kerri is known as a “go to advocate” who expects all systems of care to step up and meet the needs of children and families in North Carolina.
