Prenatal and Infancy
North Carolin Infant and Toddler Program: The North Carolina Early Intervention Section (NCEI) is a part of NCDHHS’ Division of Child and Family Well-Being. It is the lead agency for the North Carolina Infant-Toddler Program (NC ITP). The NC ITP provides support and services for families and their children, birth to three who have special needs.

Early Childhood
Black Families and Providers Accessing Services Together (BFAST): BFAST provides easily accessible, culturally sensitive, and personally tailored information to allow successful connection to early intervention services for Black autistic children across North Carolina.

School Age
ECAC: ECAC helps parents navigate the special education system, know their rights, and use their voice. We provide information, support, training and resources to assist families caring for children with special needs from birth to age 26.

Transition to Adulthood
Work Together NC: The goal of Work Together NC is to help individuals find the community supports they need to transition and grow as adults. This might include finding a job or a place to volunteer, postsecondary education, housing, social and recreational opportunities, and more.
Rethinking Guardianship: Rethinking Guardianship provides education for families, providers, and the community about what the guardianship process means for people across the state.

Adulthood
L’Arche NC: L’Arche North Carolina is an inclusive community in formation where adults with and without intellectual disabilities share life and friendships.
Akalaka: A network of adults with I/DD and their adult sibling caretakers.

Aging
Family Caregiver Support Program: The National Family Caregiver Support Program (NFCSP) provides grants to States and Territories to fund a range of support that assist caregivers.

Resources for Every Life Stage
North Carolina Navigating Care: The NC Navigating Care project offers families national resources for 6 life domains. It also offers a decision tree model for families and providers to understand developmental milestones and what to do if you have concerns about your child’s development.
